George Washington was the first President of the United States of America and one of the Founding Fathers o the United States. His mother was Mary Bell and his father was Augustine Washington. His parents owned a plantation with slaves in Virginia. Washington became a farmer use like his father and his plantation was called Mount Vernon. Washington always wanted to be a soldier. By the age of 23, he was a colonel in charge of all the soldiers in Virginia. In 1789, Washington was elected president without any competition. Washington helped the government get started.  He was re-elected to a second term. I like Washington a lot because he was very honest and kind.
